Delhi Dehradun Expressway
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is an access controlled greenfield expressway connecting Delhi with Dehradun.
- Delhi-Dehradun Expressway aims to reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from around 5-6 hours to only 2.5 hours.
- Distance between Delhi and Dehradun to be reduced from 280 Kms to 210 Kms.
- Length of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is 210 km (130 miles) and a
6/12 lanes project.
- The Expressway starts from Akshardham in Delhi passing through Loni/Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, Saharanpur and Dehradun
- This 12000 crore project is expected to be completed in January 2026.
- Trial runs have begun in completed section of the project from Akshardham in Delhi to Khekra (Bhagpat) near Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Delhi-Dehradun Expressway boasts of 113 underpasses, 16 entry points, 62 shelters for buses, service lanes stretching 76 kms and 12 passengers amenities points.
- It also connects with Char Dham Highway at Haridwar.
- The project is developed and maintained by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
- It is being developed in four phases including greenfield and brownfield sections.
- It is also known as Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor and Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway.
- It has two links to connect with cities or towns lying nearby its route.
- In future, the expressway will connect with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway which will improved connectivity between norther and western India.
