Advantages of Pit Type Weighbridge

• Flushed and installed completely at ground level.
• Consumes very less space.
• Weighing Equipments and structure are not easily visible.
• No ramps are required on either side thus requires very less area compared to pit less.

Disadvantages of Pit Type Weighbridge:

• Although ramps are not required but foundation civil work turns out to be very costly.
• Maintenance is very costly as the pit in the bottom needs to be periodically cleaned and suitable lighting also needs to be provided for service and breakdown works.
• Proper drainage for water accumulated due to rain has to be kept or else the water may damage the structure.
• For any kind of fault detection or inspection, technician has to enter below the structure.
• Sump/Pump has to be kept in case there is no proper drainage.
• Pesticides and Insecticides has to be used inside the pit for its proper maintenance.
